O-Daiko (道 Dō Series) Kapiac

O-Daiko (道 Dō Series) Kapiac is a durable, stave-built taiko designed for schools, ensembles, cultural centers and touring groups that need powerful low-end sound without the cost or weight of a single-log drum. Its reinforced Kapiac body uses transverse mortise-and-tenon joints for stability during rehearsal, transport and performance.

Kapiac Stave Construction

• Body: Kapiac staves joined with a transverse mortise-and-tenon structure to reduce deformation and improve stability.
• Heads: High-quality cowhide selected for a strong attack and sustained low tone.
• Finish: Natural wood grain; each drum varies slightly in grain and color.

Choose from eight approximate head diameters:

• 2.5 shaku: 75 cm
• 3.0 shaku: 90 cm
• 3.5 shaku: 105 cm
• 4.0 shaku: 120 cm
• 4.5 shaku: 135 cm
• 5.0 shaku: 150 cm
• 5.5 shaku: 165 cm
• 6.0 shaku: 180 cm

The product photos show the 5.0-shaku model, with an approximate 150 cm head diameter. Body proportions vary slightly by size.

Natural Wood Grain and Custom Finishes

Every Kapiac shell has unique grain and color variation. Lighting and screen settings may also affect how the finish appears in photos. Custom colors may be available at additional cost; add your request to the order notes and provide a color sample by email so the JINLEI team can confirm feasibility before production.

Production Time

Each drum is made to order in approximately 90–120 working days. Production timing may vary by size and customization.
