Description: Nagadou Daiko Keyaki Kurinuki (Hollowed-out Solid Wood)
Keyaki – A Timeless Tradition
We select native Japanese Keyaki wood, which has long been regarded as the premier material for crafting Nagadou Daiko. For centuries, people have valued Keyaki for its versatility, from fine furniture to the majestic bodies of taiko drums, and even in the construction of temples and castles. Keyaki is easy to work with, and its combination of hardness and durability makes it ideal for these varied applications. Especially, Nagadou Daiko drums made from hollowed-out Keyaki wood are considered the pinnacle of quality.
Unmatched Acoustic Performance
Taiko drums made from Keyaki (Zelkova) are renowned for their exceptional sound quality. The dense wood structure allows for rich resonance and sustained reverberation, producing deep and powerful tones that distinguish them from other taiko. The natural grain of Keyaki adds visual appeal to the drum, giving it a sense of gravitas and presence. Owning a Keyaki Nagadou Daiko is akin to possessing a genuine piece of traditional art.

Taiko drums are made from natural wood, so even the same product may vary in weight due to the natural differences in the wood.
Image Product Ratio
